Portuguese Murals and Tiles
One of our stops was in the Algarve, the southernmost part of Portugal. We couldn’t resist the mural panels made of hand-painted Portuguese tiles that one sees everywhere in Portugal.
Each tile is hand-painted and fired, and then all are assembled to make the final product. The most traditional tiles are in blue and white, but other colors are also available.
We found a very skillful artisan who does this work. He sells handpainted tiles to many places throughout Europe, but our store will be his first outlet in the United States.
